Denne MGC ROADSTER Er produceret 21. -22. Februar 1968 til det engelske hjemmemarked (højrestyret). Registreret første gang 12. Marts 1968 i London. Jeg købte bilen 25. Juni 2009 af den kun anden ejer, lidt udenfor Oxford (UK). Mileage 8305. Efter konvertering til venstrestyring og renovering hos specialist in Manchester, blev bilen transporteret hjem til Danmark. Matching numbers og fuld historik. Den fremstår stort set som da den forlod fabrikken: Snowberry White Black trim (lædersæderne med nakkestøtte er dog fra ’72 model) Black mohair folding hood …og originalt extraudstyr: Black mohair Tonneau cover, Rear Seat, Heater, Wire wheels (dog opdateret til chrome trådhjul), Overdrive Motor: 2912cc straight-6, Twin SU carburetor, 145 HK (bhp) Vinter 2018/19 “genbesøg i” Manchester: Motor renoveret og konverteret til blyfri. The car starts, drive and stop as she should. In good mechanical and cosmetic condition. Today the car is considered very collectible. First registered in London March 12th 1968. Car Specification: Type: 2-door roadster LHD (Converted from RHD) VIN: G-CN1/597G Odometer: 18500 miles (I believe you have to add 100.000) Drive: LWD (rear- wheel drive) Gearbox: Manual 4-speed Electric overdrive at 3th and 4th Engine: 2912 cc, straight-6, twin SU carburetor Top speed: 193 km/h (120 mph) (declared by factory) Accelerations: 0- 60 mph 7.9 s; 0- 100 km/h 8.7 s (declared by factory) History of the MGC: M.G.'s Grandest Grand Tourer - 1969 MGC: To the untrained onlooker, there is almost no difference between the ubiquitous MGB and the MGC. Oh yeah, there's that purposefully bulged "bonnet," but few notice the one-inch-larger-diameter wheels or different markings on the gauges. Without lifting the hood, how can they tell? It's this reason that the MGC, in both open Tourer and closed GT forms, was M.G.'s best-kept secret, one that the MGC faithful have been championing for over 40 years. The MGC was a 2912 cc, straight-6, twin SU carburetor version of the MGB sold from 1967 and produced until August 1969 with some sales running on into 1970. The car was given the model code ADO52. It was intended as a replacement for the Austin-Healey 3000 which would have been ADO51 but in that form never got beyond the design proposal stage. The body shell needed considerable revision around the engine bay and to the floor pan, but externally the only differences were a distinctive bonnet bulge to accommodate the relocated radiator and a teardrop for carburetor clearance. It had different brakes from the MGB, 15 inch wheels, a lower geared rack and pinion and special torsion bar suspension with telescopic dampers. Like the MGB, it was available as a coupé (GT) and roadster. An overdrive gearbox or three-speed automatic gearbox were available as options. The MGC was cancelled in 1969 after less than two years of production. Today the car is considered very collectible. An MGC is uncommon, even at a British car gathering. We figure that all of this makes the MGC, the big Healey that never was, into a very enticing proposition for any Anglophile collector. In 1967 HRH Prince Charles took delivery of an MGC GT (SGY 766F), which he passed down to Prince William 30 years later.
